Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to join a leading banking client on an 8‑month contract. The role is hybrid, requiring two days per week on‑site at the Toronto office, and supports a global 24/7/365 security operation.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously monitor security events using SIEM tools and case‑management platforms.
• Investigate and triage incidents, acting as the first responder.
• Analyze data from multiple sources to uncover threats and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional security teams to escalate and manage incidents.
• Provide recommendations to improve detection capabilities and automation.
• Document and update security procedures and processes.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Up to 4 years of experience in information security or related operations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Required skills

• Familiarity with SIEM platforms such as Splunk or QRadar.
• Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Experience with cloud security services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Scripting or coding knowledge (Python, PowerShell, Bash) – nice‑to‑have.
• Knowledge of Identity & Access Management, vulnerability and configuration management – nice‑to‑have.
