About the role
Join EQ Bank, a challenger bank serving nearly 4 million Canadians. This winter internship (January‑April 2027) is with the portfolio management team of the Customer Risk department, where you will help build process efficiencies and support new risk strategies.
Key responsibilities
- Extract and prepare data for ad‑hoc analysis and reporting using PySpark and SQL queries.
- Build automation processes for monthly and quarterly deliverables.
- Participate in the analysis of business‑strategy impact on risk‑management models.
- Create and track documentation for risk strategies, reporting, and analysis.
- Conduct risk‑strategy changes and implementation.
- Explore customer data and brainstorm improvements to existing risk strategies.
Required profile
- Academic focus in mathematics, statistics, business, or another quantitative discipline.
- Hands‑on experience with programming languages such as PySpark, SQL, or Python.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to propose creative solutions and meet tight deadlines.
