Course Lecturer – Topics in Conflict and Development (INTD 398)

About the role

The Institute for the Study of International Development at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to teach INTD 398: Topics in Conflict and Development. This short‑term teaching appointment runs from late August to early December 2026 and offers an opportunity to engage undergraduate students in critical issues of conflict, development, and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver two weekly lectures (Tuesday and Thursday, 4:05 pm–5:25 pm) for the INTD 398 course.
• Prepare and update course outlines, reading lists, and instructional materials.
• Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and class participation.
• Maintain office hours and provide academic support to students.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a related discipline (PhD preferred).
• Research or professional experience in international development, conflict, human rights, migration, environment, governance, health, or climate change.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work on the McGill campus in Quebec.
• Fluent English communication, both written and spoken.
