Course Lecturer – Introduction to Catholicism (Fall 2026)

About the role

The School of Religious Studies at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer to teach CATH 200: Introduction to Catholicism during the Fall 2026 term. The course offers an interdisciplinary exploration of the Roman Catholic tradition and its impact on Western civilization.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver weekly lectures on Mondays and Wednesdays (11:35 am‑12:55 pm) in the Birks Building (STBIO N2/2).
• Develop and present a detailed course outline and syllabus that reflects the intellectual, religious, moral, and cultural dimensions of Catholicism.
• Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and class participation.
• Maintain office hours and provide academic guidance to students.

Required profile

• Minimum of a Ph.D. in religious studies or advanced candidacy in Catholic Studies.
• Demonstrated superior teaching ability with prior university‑level teaching experience.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
• Fluency in English for both verbal and written communication.
