Course Lecturer – Foundations of Public Finance and Administration

About the role

McGill University seeks a qualified Course Lecturer to teach CPAG 220 – Foundations of Public Finance and Administration. The position is based on‑site in Kuujjuaq and involves delivering graduate‑level instruction to students in the field of public finance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures for CPAG 220, covering public finance, budgeting, and fiscal policy.
• Develop course materials, assignments, and assessment tools.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Canadian public services and finance systems.
• Engage in academic or applied research related to public administration, when applicable.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Public Policy or Business Management (PhD preferred).
• Member in good standing with the Order of Chartered Professional Accountants of Quebec (CPA.CA, CPA, or CPA Auditor).
• Teaching experience at the university level (graduate‑level preferred) or in a corporate setting.
• At least five consecutive years of senior‑level experience in public policy, public administration, fiscal policy, or a leadership role in government.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian public sector finance system.
• Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
