Course Lecturer – Elementary Mathematics (Fall 2026)

About the role

The Office of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) at McGill University seeks a qualified Course Lecturer to teach the elementary mathematics course EDEE 332 for the Fall 2026 term. The position involves delivering content both online and in‑person to pre‑service elementary teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver the course curriculum for EDEE 332 710 Teaching Elementary Mathematics 2.
• Facilitate online sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and in‑person instruction on Thursdays.
• Adapt teaching materials to reflect the cultural and social context of the Kanehsatà:ke community.
• Collaborate with the partnering school board and course coordinators during the planning phase.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent professional experience in the field).
• Expert knowledge of elementary mathematics content and the Quebec Education Program.
• Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies defined by the Ministère de l’Éducation.
• Understanding of the impact of colonialism on Indigenous communities and experience integrating equity‑focused pedagogies.
• Prior teaching experience in Quebec elementary schools or with Indigenous communities.

Required skills

• Curriculum development grounded in Indigenous knowledge and pedagogies.
• Ability to modify course content to suit local educational and cultural contexts.
