About the role

The Department of Economics at McGill University is seeking a Course Lecturer to teach ECON 219-001 (Current Economic Problems) during the Winter 2027 term. The instructor will lead lectures on contemporary issues affecting the Canadian economy.

Key responsibilities

  • Deliver two weekly lectures (Tuesday and Thursday, 08:35‑09:55) in ADAMS AUD.
  • Prepare course outlines, teaching materials, and assess student performance through assignments and examinations.

Required profile

  • Doctoral‑level study in Economics (completed PhD or comprehensive exams).
  • Demonstrated highly effective teaching ability or superior communication skills.
  • Specialization closely aligned with the course subject.
  • Experience as a teaching assistant is considered an asset.

What we offer

  • Salary of $11,824 CAD per course.
  • Teaching schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 08:35‑09:55, from January 5 to April 14, 2027.
