About the role

The Faculty of Law at McGill University seeks a Course Lecturer for LAWG 601 – Communication 1, offered in the Fall 2026 term. This part‑time teaching position involves delivering a 1.51‑credit course on legal writing and communication, scheduled on Fridays from 14:35 to 17:25 in Chancellor Day Hall.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver lectures that guide students through the full writing process, including planning, drafting, revising, and editing.
• Develop course materials and assignments that enhance students' analytical and written communication skills.
• Assess student performance through graded assignments, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with the Student Affairs Office to address any scheduling changes or student concerns.

Required profile

• A first degree in law (LL.B., J.D., or equivalent) is mandatory.
• Several years of significant legal practice or professional experience in a relevant area.
• Demonstrated experience teaching undergraduate law students in a bilingual (English/French) environment.
