Counter Salesperson

About the role

As a Counter Salesperson you will deliver top‑level customer service by maintaining a clean, well‑stocked counter area, answering product questions, entering and picking orders, and following up on backorders. You will also support the Inside Sales and Outside Sales teams, helping to drive sales and build strong relationships with contractors and other customers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a professional atmosphere for walk‑in customers and uphold EMCO’s core values.
• Assist customers with product selection, research, and recommendations, and generate leads for the Outside Account Manager.
• Enter, pick, pack, and process sales orders, including returns and warranty claims.
• Maintain product knowledge, stock levels, and clean merchandising displays.
• Follow up on backorders, inform buyers of low stock, and resolve customer concerns.
• Support teammates with bulk orders and other tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; post‑secondary education is an asset.
• Minimum two years of customer service or counter‑sales experience.
• Strong verbal communication, relationship‑building, and math skills.
• Ability to learn EMCO’s order‑processing software and operate material‑handling equipment.
• High integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
