Cost Accountant – Plant Finance (Hybrid, Stayner)

About the role

Join Cronos Group as a Cost Accountant supporting plant finance operations in a hybrid setting (3 days onsite in Stayner, Ontario). You will work closely with the Senior Manager, Cost Accounting to ensure accurate product cost reporting within an SAP environment and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Senior Manager, Cost Accounting in all plant finance activities.
• Develop and maintain standard costs in SAP ERP.
• Create and manage monthly KPI reports and plant performance metrics.
• Analyze actual costs versus budget and forecast, focusing on material and labor variances.
• Monitor inventory transactions, including scrap, rework, obsolescence, and write‑offs.
• Conduct cost studies for new product launches to assist marketing.
• Prepare reports for day‑to‑day operations and special projects.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and advise on reducing waste.
• Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with GAAP, SOX and company policies.
• Perform periodic inventory control reviews, cycle counts and reconciliations.
• Maintain inventory valuation schedules under standard costing.
• Assist with fixed‑asset, MRO and CAPEX reporting.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated professional who thrives in complex, fast‑paced environments.
• Strong attention to detail with experience in manufacturing or cultivation settings.
• 3–5 years of experience in cost accounting.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team.
