About the role

Our client, a respected business law firm in the Greater Toronto Area, is seeking an experienced Corporate / Tax Lawyer to join its established practice. The role offers direct client engagement on sophisticated corporate transactions, tax‑driven reorganisations, and succession planning matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise privately held businesses and owners on corporate and commercial transactions.
• Structure and execute share and asset purchase agreements.
• Draft and negotiate letters of intent, purchase agreements, and shareholder arrangements.
• Support tax‑efficient restructuring, estate freezes, and succession planning projects.
• Maintain and develop meaningful client relationships under the guidance of senior partners.

Required profile

• Intermediate to senior‑level lawyer with a strong corporate/commercial background.
• Interest in expanding expertise in tax strategy and restructuring.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters independently.
• Commitment to long‑term career growth within a collaborative firm.

Required skills

• Corporate law knowledge (share purchases, asset acquisitions, shareholder agreements).
• Understanding of tax‑driven corporate reorganisations.
• Strong drafting and negotiation abilities.
