Cook – Luxury Hotel (multiple positions)

About the role

We are seeking experienced cooks to join our kitchen team at a renowned 29‑room luxury hotel on Fogo Island. The role involves preparing high‑quality dishes that reflect our commitment to sustainability, creativity, and exceptional guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes according to the Inn’s standards, menu specifications and seasonal offerings.
• Collaborate with the Sous Chef and kitchen team on daily operations and menu development.
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored and used efficiently to minimise waste.
• Follow precise recipes and cooking techniques while maintaining consistent presentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized and sanitized workstation in line with health and safety regulations.
• Assist with kitchen prep, including sauce preparation and mise en place.
• Work efficiently under pressure during peak service periods.
• Perform other duties as required.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a cook in a high‑end or fine‑dining establishment.
• In‑depth knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, kitchen equipment and best practices.
• Strong understanding of various cuisines, culinary techniques and food presentation.
• Ability to handle high‑pressure situations with professionalism.
• Excellent time‑management and organisational skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
