Controls Engineer – Body Controls

About the role

The Body Controls Engineer will develop and integrate embedded software for vehicle‑level body functions on a zonal platform. You will work on features such as vehicle access, central locking, security, alarm, crash response, passive safety, occupant detection, AVAS/horn, trailer detection, and steering‑wheel interfaces.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement embedded control software, including state machines, arbitration logic, and vehicle‑mode handling across multiple ECUs.
• Produce high‑level functional specifications in collaboration with systems, integration, and platform partners.
• Integrate and validate features on bench and vehicle, resolve interface issues, and drive features to release readiness.
• Develop diagnostics and support troubleshooting, manufacturing, and service activities.
• Support ISO 26262 safety analyses for passive‑safety and vehicle‑access features.
• Validate features in unit, SIL, HIL, and vehicle test environments and triage field issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer, or software engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience with automotive or embedded software systems.
• Experience with vehicle networks (CAN/CAN‑FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) and diagnostics (UDS, DIDs/DTCs).
• Knowledge of functional safety methodologies (ISO 26262, FMEA, fault trees).
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
