Controller – Multi-Entity Accounting & Finance Leader

About the role

Our client, a well‑established family office, is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and finance operations across a diversified portfolio of businesses and investments. Reporting directly to the Principals, you will work closely with senior leadership in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes for multiple legal entities.
• Prepare and review consolidated financial statements, management reporting packages, and supporting schedules.
• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations, including general ledger, account reconciliations, and intercompany transactions.
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors and support corporate tax compliance, filings, and planning.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow management, and financial analysis.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives for financial processes, controls, and reporting.
• Assist with special projects such as acquisitions, corporate structuring, financing activities, and investment holdings.

Required profile

• CPA designation (required).
• Progressive experience in accounting and finance, including prior Controller or senior finance leadership roles.
• Strong background in multi‑entity accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting.
• Experience overseeing audits, tax compliance, and managing external advisors.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
