Controller – Manufacturing Finance Leader

About the role

Our client, a privately‑held manufacturing company serving global brands, is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations across Canadian and U.S. subsidiaries. The role reports to the CFO and partners closely with senior leadership to ensure accurate financial governance and strategic insight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day accounting, payroll, tax compliance and internal controls for Canadian and U.S. entities.
• Prepare and consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, ensuring timely delivery and strong audit readiness.
• Coordinate external audits and act as the primary liaison with auditors.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and MD&A preparation in partnership with FP&A.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities, advising senior leadership on strategic decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, systems and controls.
• Manage and develop the Accounting team, fostering collaboration with Finance Reporting & Controls.

Required profile

• CPA designation.
• 7‑10 years of experience at the Controller level, preferably in manufacturing or CPG environments.
• Strong leadership experience with proven ability to develop finance teams.
• Demonstrated expertise in Canadian and U.S. tax, consolidation and financial reporting.
