Contract Operator – North Simonette (Camp Rotation)

About the role

HWN Energy Ltd. is seeking a Contract Operator to join its North Simonette operations. This camp‑based position works on an 8‑days‑on / 6‑days‑off rotation, providing daily plant and field support for gas and oil production facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the North Simonette gas plant and battery facilities, including stabilizers, sour oil treating units, compressors, glycol dehydration and water injection systems.
• Monitor SCADA systems, respond to alarms, and troubleshoot production anomalies.
• Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repairs on compressors, pumps, separators, treaters, tanks, and associated instrumentation.
• Manage water‑injection operations, including pump monitoring, rate optimization, water‑quality sampling and disposal compliance.
• Ensure safe handling of sour (H2S‑containing) streams in line with HWN HSE standards and AER regulations.
• Conduct daily production reporting, optimize well performance, and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Participate in safety meetings, HSE initiatives, and CMDS competency training.

Required profile

• Enrolled in HWN Competency CMDS Safety Program.
• Willingness to work primarily on‑site in a camp environment with 8‑on/6‑off rotation.
• Experience operating oil‑ and gas‑production equipment and handling sour gas streams.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems.
