Construction Site Superintendent

About the role

The Construction Site Superintendent is heavily involved in day‑to‑day operations, allocating resources, equipment and subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with owner standards, design procedures, contract specifications and industry best practices. The main objective is to deliver the specified work safely, on time, within budget and to the required level of quality and workmanship.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and direct construction projects in strict accordance with contract documents, Clearway methods and industry best practices.
• Ensure safety compliance for all labour forces, including subcontractors, and enforce project safety and quality‑control policies.
• Coordinate daily construction crews, owned and rented equipment, material supply and subcontractors while maintaining satisfactory relationships with owners, unions and other stakeholders.
• Analyze specifications and construction drawings, develop construction plans and schedules prior to mobilization.
• Monitor the project site to verify compliance with standards, specifications and best practices.
• Research and recommend solutions to design conflicts, interferences and errors in collaboration with Project Managers and Coordinators.
• Plan crew and equipment deployment, attend and lead project meetings, and review cost reports to keep the project within budget.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (Civil Engineering preferred) or Construction Management degree with civil construction experience.
• Minimum 5 years of civil construction experience.
• Valid British Columbia driver’s licence.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English.
• Effective time‑management, organizational and multi‑tasking abilities.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada (no sponsorship).
