About the role

TD Insurance is seeking a Counsel I to join its Alberta legal team. The role involves handling a variety of insurance‑related legal matters and representing the company or its policyholders in civil litigation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage assigned insurance legal matters, including claims for personal injury and property damage.
• Represent TD Insurance or its policyholders in civil litigation involving damages and compensation.
• Develop and revise legal strategies for investigations, questioning, and case handling.
• Collaborate with a Practice Leader in Alberta and other internal stakeholders.
• Work within a hybrid model, balancing on‑site and remote responsibilities.

Required profile

• Licensed to practice law in Canada (member of a provincial law society).
• Experience handling civil litigation matters of varying complexity.
• Ability to develop and implement effective legal strategies.
