Concrete Finisher

About the role

B&B Contracting Group is seeking a dedicated Concrete Finisher to work in its Excavation & Shoring Division in Surrey. The successful candidate will be responsible for forming, placing, and finishing concrete on a variety of civil construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Fabricate and erect forms for civil concrete construction, curbs, sidewalks, and flatworks.
• Place, level, and finish concrete to grade and depth specifications.
• Operate power vibrators and hand tools to compact and finish concrete surfaces.
• Apply hardening, sealing, waterproofing, and damp‑proofing treatments.
• Repair, resurface, and replace damaged concrete sections.
• Work safely at heights on scaffolding or swing stages as required.

Required profile

• Journeyman certification or at least 3 years of concrete‑finishing experience.
• Physical ability to lift moderate to heavy loads and work in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s licence, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.

Required skills

• Formwork fabrication and erection.
• Operation of curbing machines.
• Proficient use of hand and power tools for concrete finishing.
• Operation of power vibrators for concrete compaction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
