Community Service Worker – Sound Times Program

About the role

The Sound Times program, one of North America’s largest mental health and addiction services, is seeking two Community Service Workers to join its Toronto team. You will help create a supportive, non‑appointment‑based environment for program members, assisting with resource navigation and brief interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with individuals to identify support needs and provide information, advocacy, and brief interventions.
• Coordinate medical and legal services available through the program’s clinics.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in line with Reconnect policies.
• Refer clients to appropriate services and ensure strong linkages.
• Collaborate with internal staff and external partners to promote self‑advocacy.

Required profile

• Relevant university or college education, or at least two years of direct service experience.
• Working knowledge of the criminal‑justice system, mental health, and addiction services.
• Personal experience as a service user of mental health, addiction, or criminal‑justice systems is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of barriers faced by marginalized individuals.
• Ability to work flexible hours and pass a criminal background check.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft‑based applications.

• Starting salary of $53,860 CAD per year.
