Community Resource Worker (CRP)

About the role

We are seeking a Community Resource Worker (CRP) to support families with children aged 4‑17 who have identified or suspected mental health challenges. The role provides counseling, advice, and service coordination in family homes and community settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide information, supportive counselling and service coordination for children, youth and families referred to the program.
• Deliver psycho‑education to parents, caregivers, children, youth and other service providers.
• Engage with families, guardians and educators to ensure optimal coordination of services.
• Collaborate with parents, caregivers and teachers to brainstorm resources, services and interventions.
• Maintain accurate case notes, client files and individualized reports while meeting Ministry service targets.
• Complete assessments and outcome tools to inform decision‑making and attend team and supervision meetings.

Required profile

• BSW, CYW, BA or related degree.
• Minimum three years’ experience in mental health working with children and families.
• Membership in a relevant professional association (as required).
• Working knowledge of the education system and community mental‑health resources.
• Demonstrated therapeutic intervention skills and holistic treatment approach.
• Strong understanding of professional boundaries, ethics and rights of children.
• Excellent oral and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and handle unpredictable situations.
