Communications Officer

About the role

Our client, a respected national non‑profit in the post‑secondary and research sector, is seeking a bilingual Communications Officer to help bring their mission to life. Working remotely with occasional visits to the Ottawa office, you will shape how ideas are shared, events are promoted, and stories are told across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the execution of communications plans for major events, programs, and organizational initiatives.
• Craft compelling content – announcements, social media posts, email campaigns, and website copy – in both English and French.
• Develop marketing materials for members, partners, and policymakers.
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and creative partners.
• Coordinate advertising, sponsorship visibility, and communications with partner institutions.
• Support brand consistency across digital platforms and event materials.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in communications or marketing.
• Strong understanding of digital communications tools, CMS platforms, and design software.
• Proven ability to build relationships with stakeholders, suppliers, and partners.
• Excellent time‑management, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, accountability, and attention to detail.
