Communications Manager – Okanagan School of Education

About the role

The Okanagan School of Education (OSE) at UBC seeks a Communications Manager to lead strategic communications that enhance its reputation locally, provincially, nationally and globally. The role blends leadership, content creation, and brand stewardship to support OSE’s research, scholarship, and academic programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans aligned with OSE’s strategic goals.
• Create, design, edit and publish written, visual and multimedia content for print, digital and social channels.
• Produce photography and videography for events, research highlights and promotional campaigns.
• Manage event promotion across campus and external venues, collaborating with faculty, staff, students and partners.
• Ensure all communications adhere to UBC brand standards and best‑practice guidelines.
• Generate news stories, media releases, Q&As, articles and social media posts to showcase OSE activities.

Required profile

• Proven ability to provide strategic input and leadership in a higher‑education environment.
• Strong collaboration skills with faculty, staff, students and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
