Communications Assistant – Social Media (Architecture School)

About the role

The Peter Guo‑hua Fu School of Architecture is looking for a motivated, creative student to manage its Instagram and Facebook accounts. This part‑time position will help showcase the school’s activities, achievements, and culture through visual storytelling and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the School of Architecture’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
• Source, curate, and edit photographs, videos, and other visual content that highlight student work, events, and activities.
• Build connections with students across all programs to encourage content sharing and participation.
• Create and schedule social‑media posts in collaboration with a faculty member.
• Follow established guidelines and house style for captions, messaging, and engagement.
• Monitor social‑media activity and interact professionally with followers and partner accounts.

Required profile

• Current student in good standing at McGill University.
• Basic familiarity with Instagram and Facebook.
• Interest in photography, visual communication, and digital content creation.
• Strong interpersonal, networking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• French proficiency is an asset.
