Communications Assistant (Part‑time)

About the role

The School of Continuing Studies at McGill University is seeking a part‑time Communications Assistant (C) to support recruitment and student‑service activities. Working under the direction of a supervisor, you will handle a variety of administrative and communication tasks that contribute to the student experience.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to emails, phone calls and general inquiries from prospective students.
• Assist the manager in preparing schedules, reports, minutes, agendas and briefing documents.
• Organise individuals and events related to student services, including meetings, workshops, internships and information sessions.
• Provide occasional support for Communications Assistant levels A and B as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of related experience in an administrative or communications setting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of McGill University, downtown campus and Montreal.
• Proficiency in both English and French (English level 3 on a 0‑4 scale).

• Hourly wage of $17.17 CAD.
• Fixed‑term contract from 12 August 2026 to 22 December 2026 (approximately 25 hours per week).
