Commodity Analyst - Emerging Technology

About the role

Join Armstrong Fluid Technology as a Commodity Analyst focused on emerging technology, supporting global commodity management and risk mitigation across manufacturing sites. You will partner with sourcing, engineering and supplier teams to build cost models, monitor market trends and drive cost‑predictability.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyze supplier quotations, commodity pricing, market trends, tariffs, foreign exchange and other cost drivers.
• Develop forward‑looking cost models, should‑cost analyses and price‑indexing mechanisms to support negotiations and sourcing decisions.
• Maintain commodity spend data, supplier information, pricing records and contracts; track purchase price variance, cost savings and supplier performance.
• Support the Commodity Manager in strategy development, scenario‑based cost modeling, contract administration and cross‑functional sourcing initiatives.
• Utilize digital tools such as Pro‑Purchaser, SiliconExpert, Infor LN and Power BI to automate reporting, run BOM risk simulations and improve global procurement performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, business analytics or related field.
• 5‑7 years of procurement, strategic sourcing or commodity management support experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven track record in cost breakdown modeling, purchase price variance tracking and BOM risk identification.
• Strong analytical abilities with experience creating automated reports and dashboards.

Required skills

• Pro‑Purchaser, SiliconExpert, Infor LN, SAP, Coupa, SAP Ariba.
• Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel for data visualization and analytics.
• Component lifecycle database usage and electronic component risk‑tracking.
• ERP systems experience (SAP, Infor LN, Coupa).
