Commissioning Manager – Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation

About the role

Progesys Inc. seeks a Commissioning Supervisor to lead electrical, instrumentation, and automation commissioning for a mining project in Ontario. The role ensures timely, safe, and compliant start‑up of installations while protecting personnel and the environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a commissioning execution plan, including start‑up sequences, aligned with regulatory and Progesys standards.
• Coordinate with construction management, the client, and corporate offices to deliver efficient, value‑added service.
• Lead the commissioning team, manage contractors/sub‑contractors, and oversee pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities.
• Support operational readiness planning and manage vendor presence on site.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring compliance by all parties.
• Provide comprehensive reporting throughout all commissioning and start‑up phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience supervising commissioning projects in industrial or mining environments.
• Strong knowledge of commissioning processes, functional testing, and project management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and process diagrams.
• Proficiency with project management and activity‑tracking tools.
• Technical problem‑solving and interdisciplinary coordination.
