Collection Administrator

About the role

The Collection Administrator supports the Student Accounts Office by managing the accounting and reporting of student tuition, loan, and fee collections. This role ensures accurate financial records and compliance with university policies while interacting with students and external agencies.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accounting functions and prepare financial reports related to student collections.
• Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in line with university collection policies.
• Contact students with overdue balances via phone and email to resolve issues.
• Analyze overdue accounts, identify systematic invoicing problems, and provide feedback to management.
• Distribute lists of unpaid fees to faculties and handle reinstatement requests.
• Manage interest recalculations, deposit forfeitures, and write‑off processing for closed cases.
• Negotiate payment arrangements within defined limits.
• Verify and maintain registration and transcript holds for students with outstanding balances.
• Reconcile student accounts with collection agencies and process commission payments.

Required profile

• Experience in accounting or financial collections, preferably in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of university collection policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and external agencies.
• Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information.
