Coin Room Assistant – Transit Services (Part‑time)

About the role

The Coin Room Assistant supports the Transit Services division by handling cash and fare media revenues. Working in the Revenue Room, you will sort, count, and prepare deposits, manage coin orders, and maintain accurate inventory records.

Key responsibilities

• Sort, wrap, and balance coins from fare box revenues and other cash sources.
• Prepare bank deposits and deliver them to the financial institution.
• Arrange and count fare media orders for third‑party vendors, ensuring accurate payment.
• Verify fare media returns, organize invoices, and file documentation.
• Monitor and maintain inventories of revenue supplies, coin‑counting machines, and fare media.
• Assist the public and agencies with fare media purchases and supply deliveries.
• Prepare daily revenue summary reports and perform weekly/annual inventory cycle counts.
• Receive defective Presto cards, complete return paperwork, and verify entries against CLASS.
• Maintain security, cleanliness, and controlled access to the Revenue Room.

Required profile

• Detail‑oriented with strong numerical accuracy.
• Ability to follow established procedures and security protocols.
• Team player who can work cooperatively with other staff.
