Coffee Operator

About the role

Kicking Horse Coffee is looking for a reliable Coffee Operator to join its production team. You will be involved in every step of turning green coffee beans into the premium roasted product enjoyed across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Follow standard operating procedures and checklists to roast, bag, and box coffee beans.
• Operate roasting and packaging equipment using HMI touch‑screen controls.
• Roast coffee according to defined recipes and profiles.
• Pack, inspect, bag, and box finished coffee, ensuring quality standards are met.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on equipment and collaborate with the Maintenance team.
• Transport coffee beans safely throughout the facility using a forklift.
• Conduct daily clean‑ups of hoppers, pipes, de‑stoners, bins, and silos.
• Enter production data into ERP software, track recipes, allocate materials, and maintain inventory.
• Follow all health, safety, and quality policies.
• Participate in Kaizen (continuous improvement) initiatives and cross‑train across roasting, packing, and warehousing areas.

Required profile

• Physical ability to lift 25‑50 lb (with team assistance) and perform repetitive motions on a manufacturing line for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Basic computer and data‑entry skills; familiarity with Microsoft Excel is a plus.
• Understanding of workplace safety and willingness to follow procedures.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is an asset.
• Forklift operation capability.
