Co-op Researcher – Computer Vision & Machine Learning

About the role

Huawei Canada’s Noah’s Ark Laboratory is looking for a motivated co‑op researcher to advance computer vision and machine‑learning technologies. The position is an 8‑, 12‑ or 16‑month internship that will give you hands‑on experience on cutting‑edge AI projects that feed directly into Huawei products.

Key responsibilities

• Research and develop state‑of‑the‑art computer‑vision and machine‑learning algorithms.
• Design and implement image and video analysis pipelines using deep‑learning frameworks.
• Optimize models and algorithms for efficient deployment on mobile devices.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a senior Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Strong software development background with prior internship experience in C++ and Python.
• Solid understanding of machine‑learning and deep‑learning concepts and experience applying them to real‑world problems.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar deep‑learning frameworks.
• Familiarity with Android development and JNI (asset).
• Knowledge of deep‑learning architectures such as CNN, GAN, Transformers, GNN, LSTM, VAE.
