Co-op Engineer – AI Software Engineering

About the role

Huawei Canada's Noah’s Ark Lab is seeking a forward‑thinking Co‑op Engineer to integrate cutting‑edge AI technologies into its mobile ecosystem. The role combines building robust software systems with pioneering AI agents and large‑language‑model tools to transform mobile development and maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage and build AI‑driven code generation tools to accelerate feature delivery and improve codebase maintainability.
• Research and implement intelligent agents to automate complex workflows such as testing and system monitoring.
• Design and optimise core components for next‑generation mobile platforms, including HarmonyOS.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional R&D teams to integrate AI solutions into real‑world mobile applications.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience developing applications in C/C++, Python and TypeScript.
• Working knowledge of machine‑learning principles and large‑language‑model integration for software‑engineering workflows.
• Proven ability to quickly master new frameworks, open‑source tools and programming languages.
• Experience designing and deploying autonomous agent systems and AI‑augmented development tools.
• Familiarity with mobile ecosystem development, preferably HarmonyOS.

What we offer

• Target annual compensation ranging from $58,000 to $104,000 CAD, based on education, experience and demonstrated expertise.
