CNC Machinist – Precision Manufacturing

About the role

Upper Canada Railway Services Corp is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join its Welland facility. You will work in a fast‑paced general manufacturing environment, preparing and machining components to tight tolerances for railway service parts.

Key responsibilities

• Measure and lay out work pieces, read engineering drawings, blueprints and charts.
• Set up, adjust and operate conventional and CNC machine tools, including lathes, boring machines, milling machines and surface grinders.
• Enter CNC toolpath codes for speed, feed and cut, and verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers, gauges and verniers.
• Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments and complete inspection reports.
• Document any deviations from specifications and ensure inspection records are up to date.

Required profile

• College‑level certificate or diploma in a related trade, or equivalent experience.
• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in CNC machining and machine set‑up.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and handle physically demanding tasks.
• WHMIS certification and a Machinist Trade Certification.
