CNC (computer numerical control) machinist

About the role

We are seeking a skilled CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Calgary. You will work with both conventional and computer‑controlled machine tools to produce high‑precision components for a variety of applications.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables to determine dimensions and tolerances.
• Set up, adjust, and operate CNC and conventional machine tools.
• Measure and lay out work pieces, verify dimensions using micrometers, calipers and verniers.
• Fit and assemble components to close tolerances and ensure conformance to specifications.
• Maintain accurate production records and report any deviations.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 2–3 years of experience in a general manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work independently and handle physically demanding tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 23 kg.
• Own reliable transportation.

Required skills

• Mastercam CAD/CAM proficiency.
• Operation of CNC machines.
• Use of precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers and verniers.
