Cloud Security Engineer

About the role

Scotiabank is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to join its Cloud Security Engineering team in Canada. The role focuses on designing, deploying, and maintaining security tools across Google Cloud and Azure environments while supporting the bank’s secure software development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy and maintain cloud security tools in Google and Azure environments.
• Collaborate with geographically distributed teams to execute support and project initiatives.
• Adapt SDLC processes to integrate cloud security tools and enable shift‑left vulnerability detection.
• Work with vendors and internal technology teams to ensure security compliance and software currency.
• Assist in planning, analysis, design, development, testing and implementation of security solutions.
• Develop automation scripts and tools for internal teams and end users.
• Report on internal control status and recommend risk remediation actions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of software development experience using Java, JavaScript, Python, Bash or PowerShell.
• At least 3 years of experience deploying solutions on Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform and Helm.
• System administration and DevSecOps support experience for Linux, Windows, SQL Server and PostgreSQL environments.
• Strong understanding of cloud security, networking and workload protection.
