Cloud Operations Intern

About the role

We are looking for a Cloud Operations Intern to join Equitable Bank’s CloudOps team. You will support day‑to‑day cloud services, work on strategic projects and collaborate with network, security and technical support groups. This role offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑growing challenger bank.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with daily cloud operations, including provisioning and managing virtual machines, storage accounts and networking services.
• Monitor resource health, performance metrics and service alerts, escalating issues as needed.
• Support user access management and Role‑Based Access Control (RBAC) following security best practices.
• Help with backup, patching, maintenance and other operational tasks for cloud‑hosted resources.
• Contribute to basic Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and automation scripts.
• Collaborate with CloudOps, DevOps and platform teams on deployments and project activities.
• Participate in FinOps activities such as cost monitoring, utilization analysis, tagging and optimization.
• Prepare usage, cost and operational reports for governance and budgeting.
• Create and maintain documentation for cloud environments and troubleshooting procedures.

Required profile

• Completed at least three years of a four‑year university program, preferably in a technology‑related field.
• Basic understanding of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Willingness to learn new cloud technologies and tools.
• Interest in cloud operations, automation and cost management.

Required skills

• Familiarity with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
• Basic knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Scripting experience in Bash, Python or PowerShell.
• Understanding of version control (Git) and CI/CD principles.
