About the role
We are seeking a proactive Clothing Buyer to join our Toronto team. The role involves managing the full purchasing cycle for apparel, from supplier selection to store delivery, ensuring the right products are available at the right time.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and maintain contact with suppliers.
- Maintain adequate stock levels.
- Negotiate prices, discounts, credit terms and transportation arrangements with suppliers.
- Oversee distribution of merchandise to outlets.
- Provide customer service.
- Review requirements of establishment and determine quantity and type of merchandise to purchase.
- Select and purchase merchandise for resale.
- Supervise work of other buyers.
- Visit trade shows, showrooms, factories and product design events.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 to 5 years of buying experience in apparel or retail.
- Proven ability to supervise a team of 3‑10 buyers.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment with tight deadlines.
