Clinical Research Coordinator

About the role

The Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) will support multiple clinical studies at the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation (HLI) located in St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver. The role involves executing study protocols, enrolling participants, and managing data to achieve research milestones while upholding privacy and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute activities for several clinical research projects according to study protocols and HLI SOPs.
• Screen, enroll, and schedule participants for study visits.
• Collect, process, and ship biological specimens such as mouthwash, swabs, sputum, urine, and blood (with certification).
• Gather clinical and administrative data, perform data entry, and process patient honoraria.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, technicians, and supervise research assistants or students as needed.

Required profile

• Experience in clinical research coordination or related laboratory work.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple studies simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to privacy, security, and ethical guidelines.
• Effective communication with patients and multidisciplinary staff.

Required skills

• Biological sample collection and processing.
• Sample shipping and handling procedures.
• Data entry and basic data management.
