Clinical Research Assistant - Gynecologic Cancer Initiative

About the role

The Gynecologic Cancer Initiative (GCI) at UBC is a province‑wide effort to accelerate research on prevention, detection, treatment and survivorship of gynecologic cancers. The Clinical Research Assistant will provide technical and operational support for multiple clinical trials, working under the Research Manager and collaborating with investigators, participants and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with recruitment and enrollment of study participants, including eligibility screening and distribution of study materials.
• Perform data entry and documentation in study databases such as REDCap, maintain source files, and conduct routine data quality checks.
• Support the informed consent process and administer study questionnaires under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
• Prepare regulatory documentation, ethics board submissions, and assist with manuscript and presentation preparation.

Required profile

• High school graduation with additional training and at least two years of related experience.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Familiarity with research ethics requirements and Good Clinical Practice standards (TCPS2, ICH‑GCP).
• Experience in a health‑sciences, clinical research, or hospital‑based research environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with REDCap for data entry and management.
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and research ethics regulations.
