Clinical Pharmacist – Hospital Pharmacy Team

About the role

Interior Health is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join the Royal Inland Hospital Pharmacy team in Kamloops, BC. The pharmacist will provide clinical pharmacy services across acute and residential care settings, focusing on patient‑centered medication management.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clinical pharmacy services in acute and residential care environments.
• Conduct personalized treatment assessments and serve as the primary drug‑information resource.
• Monitor prescribing, distribution, and therapy to ensure safe, effective, and economical medication use.
• Oversee ongoing drug therapy, evaluating effectiveness, compliance, adverse reactions, and interactions.
• Maintain accurate workload records and communicate findings and recommendations to the healthcare team.
• Document interventions in patient health records or computerized systems.
• Interpret medication orders, enter them into the pharmacy database, and dispense prescriptions in compliance with legal and professional standards.

Required profile

• Experienced, reliable, flexible, and motivated pharmacist.
• Ability to work rotating day and evening shifts in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong attention to detail and patient‑centered approach.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with healthcare professionals.

• Competence in medication order entry and pharmacy dispensing systems.
