Clinical Nurse Educator – Operative Services

About the role

The Clinical Nurse Educator (Instructor) will join Covenant Health’s Operative Services team at Grey Nuns Community Hospital. Reporting to the Program Manager of Operative Services, you will support the Post‑Anesthetic Care Unit, Pre‑Admission Clinic, and Operating Room while fostering a culture of excellence in nursing practice.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver orientation, education, and mentorship programs for nursing staff.
• Assess and manage patient and team safety risks, promoting evidence‑based practice.
• Facilitate formal and informal learning sessions, acting as a role model aligned with Covenant Health’s mission and values.
• Contribute to the research, development, and implementation of policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality patient care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) from a recognized institution.
• Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Post‑graduate training in Operating Room nursing preferred.
• Strong clinical experience in operative services and a passion for teaching.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (Level C) certification.
• Proficiency in adult learning principles and clinical education techniques.
