Class B Refrigeration Operator

About the role

The Class B Refrigeration Operator works at the Whitby location and reports to the Chief Operator, requiring continental rotational shifts with flexible availability.

Key responsibilities

• Operate air compressors, chillers, water towers, water softeners, air dryers, pumps and fans.
• Maintain chillers, cooling towers and associated equipment.
• Ensure safe operation of the refrigeration plant.
• Perform repairs, routine inspections and testing of equipment and building infrastructure.
• Document air‑compressor, steam and gas consumption and provide forecasts to the gas supplier.
• Track and log all gas, water and hydro readings.
• Monitor and maintain water treatment for chillers and cooling towers.
• Utilise CMM and preventative maintenance programs.
• Provide access and assistance to sub‑trades as required.

Required profile

• 3rd Class Power Engineer certificate or higher, or “A”/“B” Refrigeration Operator class certificate.
• Experience operating in a TSSA‑regulated ammonia plant.
• Ability to work 7 AM‑7 PM on a continental rotational shift.
• Ability to commute to Whitby.
• Capability to obtain and maintain required security clearances.
