Civil & Infrastructure Superintendent

About the role

As a Superintendent in Pomerleau’s Civil Engineering & Infrastructure division, you will lead on‑site teams to deliver large‑scale construction projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion. You will coordinate labour, material and equipment, ensure safety and quality standards, and act as the primary liaison between the client, subcontractors and the internal project team.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and organise daily work, determine labour, material and equipment requirements and set work methods to meet project schedules.
• Supervise and coordinate site crews, trades and subcontractors, fostering collaboration and efficient workflow.
• Enforce compliance with plans, quality standards and health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Manage logistics, order materials and equipment, and coordinate site demobilisation.
• Collaborate with the Project Manager on schedule preparation and attend client coordination meetings.
• Identify on‑site challenges, propose solutions and drive productivity improvements.
• Train and mentor workers on procedures, safety protocols and emergency measures.
• Conduct inventories, prepare requisitions and communicate status reports to relevant departments.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of experience in civil works and infrastructure construction.
• Valid CCQ journeyman card.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Proven leadership, teamwork and planning capabilities.
