Chief Operating Officer (COO)

About the role

Village Ice Cream is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to own the day‑to‑day performance of its six locations and the systems that support them. Reporting directly to the Founder, the COO will act as the Integrator, translating vision into operational excellence across production, retail, and customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the senior leadership team (Head Chef, Head of Customer Experience, Head of Marketing, Head of People & Culture) and ensure cohesive execution across all stores.
• Drive financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability monitoring.
• Design, implement, and continuously improve operational processes, standards, and culture to deliver consistent quality and hospitality.
• Develop and mentor leaders, building a healthier, more accountable organization.
• Oversee multi‑location production and retail operations, ensuring seamless coordination and high‑quality output.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience in operational leadership, preferably within multi‑site food service or retail environments.
• Strong track record of building high‑performing teams and scaling operational systems.
• Ability to balance strategic vision with hands‑on execution.
• Familiarity with the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is a plus.
