Chef – Turkish Cuisine

About the role

BEST KABAB RESTAURANT is seeking an experienced Chef to lead its Turkish kitchen in Edmonton. The role involves creating authentic dishes, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring high-quality food service for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Estimate and control costs of supplies and food items, maintaining accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• Develop new recipes, demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff, and create specialty dishes for guests with allergies or dietary restrictions.
• Supervise, train, and mentor a team of 5‑10 cooks and kitchen personnel, handling recruitment, hiring, and ongoing staff development.
• Prepare and cook meals on a regular basis as well as for special events, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies, manage inventory, and maintain a fast‑paced, high‑pressure work environment.

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in Turkish cuisine.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise a team of 5‑10 kitchen staff.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment with extended periods of standing.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure while maintaining food safety standards.
