Carpenter – Skilled Woodworking Professional

About the role

Brar Woodworks is seeking a motivated carpenter to join its team in Edmonton. You will work on a variety of projects ranging from residential renovations to industrial structures, ensuring high‑quality craftsmanship and compliance with building codes.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts that meet building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
• Supervise and coordinate the work of other crew members.
• Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings such as mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 2 years of hands‑on carpentry experience.
• Ability to work safely in diverse environments.
