About the role

Prime JG Doors Inc. is seeking a skilled carpenter to join its Mississauga team. The role involves constructing and installing a variety of wood and steel components for residential and commercial projects. The successful candidate will work on site, following building codes and collaborating with other tradespeople.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
• Supervise other workers and estimate costs and material requirements.
• Maintain, repair and renovate residential and commercial wooden structures.

Required profile

• College/CEGEP education in a related field.
• 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience.

Required skills

• Blueprint reading.
• Proficiency with measuring tools.
• Cutting and shaping wood and related materials.
• Installation of windows, doors and finish hardware.
• Cost estimation.
