Carpenter – Construction Specialist

About the role

Skylight Cribbing and Framing ltd. is seeking a skilled carpenter to join our construction team in Calgary. You will work on a variety of building projects, handling everything from foundations to roof systems while ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts and measure accurately using appropriate tools.
• Cut, shape, assemble, and join wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
• Schedule and coordinate site work, and instruct apprentices.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• 2 to less than 3 years of carpentry experience.
• Ability to work at heights, in noisy environments, and handle physically demanding tasks.
• Accurate, reliable, and a strong team player.
