About the role
RJS Construction Ltd is seeking an experienced carpenter to join its team in Surrey, BC. The role involves working on various construction sites, travelling regularly, and delivering high‑quality woodwork and structural installations.
Key responsibilities
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements.
- Prepare layouts in conformance with building codes using measuring tools.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join wood, wood substitutes and lightweight steel.
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
- Estimate material quantities and costs.
Required profile
- 3 to less than 5 years of carpentry experience.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly.
Required skills
- Blueprint reading.
- Proficiency with measuring and layout tools.
- Wood cutting, shaping and assembly techniques.
