Carpenter – Construction Projects

About the role

SKYSCRAPERS CONSTRUCTION LTD is seeking a skilled carpenter to join our team in Winnipeg. You will work on a variety of construction sites, including commercial, industrial, and residential projects, handling tasks from foundations to finish work.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare labour and material cost estimates and tender quotations.
• Create layout plans that comply with building codes using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay sub‑flooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
• Schedule and coordinate on‑site work, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Maintain, repair, and renovate structures in various settings such as mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.

Required profile

• Accurate and reliable with strong judgement.
• Team player who values punctuality and ethics.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in noisy, dusty, and outdoor environments.
• Physically capable of bending, crouching, kneeling, and handling heavy loads.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools.
• Experience using measuring tools for layout and code compliance.
• Woodworking and basic metal‑working techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
